Vegetables, Water and Exercise

There are three things I work hard at doing EVERYDAY!  I eat my vegetables, drink my water and do some form of physical activity.

When I prepare lunch and dinner, I always plan my vegetable first.  Then I add my protein and last my pasta, bread or rice.  I find I feel more satisfied with my plate.  It's heaping!  Vegetables are a "0" points value so I can eat all I want.

We've always been taught that its important to get our water in each day!  I used to hate plain water.  I'd drink diet soda, flavored water or juice.  While all of these are considered a fluid, water is the best for you.

I participated in a Wellness Program at work that required I drink at least 64 ounces of water and only "water" a day.  I found this awesome water bottle at Walmart.  Warning:  People may stare at you though!  It is quite a huge water bottle.  The best and most shocked looks are when I'm driving down the road and drinking out of it!  It makes me laugh!

No more counting the glasses of water.  I just know this needs to be gone by the end of the day!!  I don't mind plain water anymore.  I've found I like plain, room temperature water these days.  It quenches my thirst better than a Diet Coke.

Since I sit at a desk for most of the day, I try to find at least 5 minutes each hour to get up and run errands up and down the stairs.  This is one of the tips Weight Watchers recommends.

When I get home from work, I always fit at least 30 minutes into my busy schedule.  I will either do my Leslie Sansone or take a walk.  If the weather is bad outside, I've even been known to go to Lowe's or Home Depot and walk the isles on my lunch break before I get off work to make sure I get my steps in.

I know for a fact that these 3 things combined have made my weight loss on Friday very successful.  I feel fantastic, too!

The Beginning

This is me at a whopping 209 lbs.  Ever since my 1st child, I've played the yoyo game with my weight.  I'd lose 30 lbs put 40 lbs back on.  Finally, I gave up and just enjoyed my food.  I ate cookies for dinner.  Ate until I was so stuffed I could barely breath and fast food was a daily habit.  I just loved my food!
I worried what others thought of me at work, church and even when I was shopping.  I hated the mall.  I hated trying on clothes.  I wore baggy clothes so my rolls wouldn't show as much.  There wasn't a day go by that I didn't worry about my weight but...... I LOVED food and still do.  : )
The day after this last Christmas, I sat down and realized how much weight I had put on.  It was hard to tie my shoes, clean my house, feed my animals and even walk in the store.  I was so exhausted ALL of the time.  I calculated how much weight I would have to lose to be at a healthy weight.  WOW!!!!  I was so shocked!  I had 82 lbs to lose!  It wasn't the 30 or 40 lbs now but 82 lbs!
That was it!  I was going to change my lifestyle, get into shape and be happy with how I look.  I joined Weight Watchers that week and started my journey.  Since that time, I have lost 28 lbs, toned up and smile ALL THE TIME!

It hasn't been easy!  My cravings are definitely still there. I still want to eat cookies for dinner but I am learning how to eat right, lose weight the healthy way and lose the jiggle with some awesome workouts!  Might I mention.....I could never do this without the Weight Watcher program and the support of family and co-workers.  The combination is helping me succeed!!!!
